Franco-Dutch violinist Cosima Soulez Larivière has garnered significant recognition through numerous international competition successes, most recently winning 3rd prize at the 2026 Bach Competition Leipzig. Other awards include 3rd prize at the Joseph Joachim Competition (2018), 1st prize at the inaugural Bartók World Competition (2017), 1st prize at the Brahms Competition (2017) and 3rd prize (and Bach prize) at the Postacchini Competition (2015). Concert appearances have taken her throughout Europe—including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall, Franz Liszt Academy, Gewandhaus Leipzig—as well as to Asia, Australia, and the United States (Carnegie Hall). As a soloist, she has appeared with orchestras such as the MDR-Sinfonieorchester, Kammerakademie Potsdam, NDR Radiophilharmonie and the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra.
Soulez Larivière greatly enjoys exploring modern and contemporary repertoire and has performed works by Pēteris Vasks, Sofia Gubaidulina, Steve Reich, Rebecca Saunders and Fazıl Say.
In 2025, she released her debut album Odyssey together with pianist Philipp Scheucher, featuring works by Karol Szymanowski, Paul Hindemith, John Corigliano and Kevin Puts. It received the Supersonic Award from Pizzicato.
As a dedicated chamber musician, she was invited to the Verbier Festival, Lockenhaus Festival, Kronberg Festival, Heidelberger Frühling, Chigiana Festival and Ukaria 24, appearing alongside artists such as Kirill Gerstein, Ilya Gringolts, Olli Mustonen and Igor Levit. She also frequently performs with her brother, violist Sào Soulez Larivière.
She has attended a number of renowned academies, among them IMS Prussia Cove, Accademia Chigiana (Giovanna Maniezzo Award), Seiji Ozawa Academy, Ravinia Steans Institute, Verbier Festival Academy (APCAV Award), Tanglewood Music Center and ‘Chamber Music Connects the World’ at the Kronberg Academy. From 2019 to 2023, she studied with Salvatore Accardo at the Accademia Stauffer (Advanced Programme).
Soulez Larivière has been supported by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz Foundation and Live Music Now Hannover e.V. She has been featured on various international platforms as 3sat, Arte, Medici TV, NPO, rbb, Deutschlandfunk, WDR, AVROTROS.
Born in Paris, Soulez Larivière began her musical education with Igor Volochine before receiving a scholarship at the age of eight to the Yehudi Menuhin School, where she studied with Natasha Boyarsky. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the HMTM in Hanover under Krzysztof Węgrzyn and recently completed her Professional Studies at the Kronberg Academy under Mihaela Martin.
She plays a violin by Giovanni Grancino (Milan, 1675), generously loaned by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
