Onutė Gražinytė
piano

Lithuanian pianist Onutė Gražinytė is rapidly emerging as a deeply expressive and intellectually probing artist, praised for her “poetic insight, delicate touch, and striking interpretative maturity” (Gramophone). Her performances have been described as “wondrously thought-provoking” (BBC Music Magazine) and “marked by remarkable emotional clarity” (Diapason d’or), especially in her interpretations of contemporary and 20th-century repertoire.
A laureate of numerous national and international piano competitions from an early age—including first prizes in Vienna and Slovakia—Gražinytė studied at the Hanover University of Music and the Hanns Eisler Academy in Berlin, where she was mentored by Kirill Gerstein. She has participated in masterclasses with Andrei Gavrilov, Ronald Brautigam, and Stephen Kovacevich, among others.
Onutė made her recording debut with Arvo Pärt: Lamentate (Accentus Music), a critically acclaimed album featuring solo works and Pärt’s piano concerto with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra. The composer himself praised her as “an extraordinary talent… with deep musical sensitivity.”
She has performed as a soloist with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Sinfonieorchester Basel, National Orchestra of Lyon, and the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, collaborating with conductors such as Giedrė Šlekytė, Gintaras Rinkevičius, and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla—her sister. An avid chamber musician, she has appeared in duo projects with cellist Edward King and performed at major European festivals and halls, including the Konzerthaus Berlin, Cologne Philharmonie, and Moravian Autumn Festival with Kremerata Baltica.
Equally at home in Bach, Schumann, or Pärt, Gražinytė brings an uncommon blend of emotional depth and structural clarity to her interpretations, establishing herself as one of the most compelling pianists of her generation.
